Central government employees protest DA freeze
Central government employees planning to protest against move to freeze dearness allowance by Central government. As per them , the central government employees have already contributed their one-day wages to the PM-CARES Fund. Approximately 50 lakh staff members and 65 lakh pensioners are affected by this. The constituent organisations of the National Council already wrote a letter to the finance ministry against Centre's decision.
JCM mentioned as “Before taking such a major policy decision the government has not bothered to consult the staff side of the NC(JCM) and without even hearing the views of the staff side, the decision taken especially on a policy matter which effects the wages of the employees and the pension of the senior citizens is against the spirit of the JCM scheme ”
They also requested "We request you to convey our feelings to the Prime Minister and the government and withdraw the decision so as to motivate the employees to perform their responsibilities ,especially in this crisis period".
Central Government Employees and Central Government pensioners are expected not get DA hike, and it is expected that the individual states may also soon follow in the footsteps of the Center and stop payment of additional installments of DA, DR to their employees and pensioners.
